Real Life Nutrition and Cooking Practices to Reduce Cancer Risk and Cancer Recurrence Risk for Survivors
Join Tricia Sinek for a cooking and nutrition presentation that will outline simple diet strategies and habits with the potential to:
• Reduce both the risk of developing obesity-related cancer(s)
• Reduce the risk of recurrence as a cancer survivor after a cancer diagnosis
• Provide lifelong chemoprevention against cancer by eating an increased amount of natural plant foods with protective (phytochemical) properties
The program will focus on recommendations for increasing intake of plant-based foods with practical strategies, tactics and cooking demonstrations to encourage participants that moving toward a plant-based diet is simple, easy and possible. The presentation will also review healthy portion sizes (to control body weight), teach participants how we can easily recognize the presence of plant phytochemical content of foods thru the color, odor and flavor of plant foods, and, review how to maximize the physiological benefits of phytochemical intake with cooking or food preparation techniques.
