We’re going virtual!

August 5, 2020  |  Time: 11:30am-3:30pm |  Free Event!

The Pierce County Cancer Survivorship Conference is an annual event to support and celebrate the community of cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers in the South Sound. Held every August, this event is presented by multiple community organizations and cancer care advocates. Thanks to the generous sponsors and other supporters, this conference is free to all attendees! Breakout sessions throughout the day explore an array of topics supporting cancer fighters and survivors. Join us to hear speakers share their inspirational stories about the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of their journey, with all of those affected by cancer.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are shifting to an online format for the 2020 conference. The decision to host a virtual event will help keep our community safe and increase accessibility.

What this year's "virtual conference" means

A virtual conference is one that takes place online, with attendees, presenters, sponsors, and other supporters interacting via a website or app instead of meeting in person.

The event will still be free to those who register, and will be held on August 5, with sessions occurring at scheduled times.

Just because it’s online doesn’t mean we can’t experience the benefits of live, real-time interaction! The technology for this keeps getting better, and this year’s virtual Pierce County Cancer Survivorship Conference will feature the following:

  • Live-streamed and pre-recorded sessions that will allow for viewing at the scheduled times, and for playback throughout the day
  • Q&A for live sessions that will allow you to engage with speakers directly
  • Our exhibitor area that will enable you to connect with organizations and vendors
  • A community board that will let you discuss topics and share photos, articles and tips
